I have been kind of busy.

With the baby, and all. I made a blog for her and for me so that I don't forget any of the little things. For Isla

16 days!

16 days until my due date. My right hand has been constantly falling asleep for 2 weeks now and my legs are so swollen it can be hard to walk at times. I'm ready for her to come but I know that every day that passes will make it easier once she is here!

I've got some room pictures I need to post at some point. Keeping this one short as I need to go put my feet up!

Tired!

Oh I am so tired. 35 weeks pregnant tomorrow is probably the reason why. I did quite a bit of cleaning in the apartment today and I feel good about that.

Not much else is going on - going to Pittsburgh next week and I need to get some things together. I'll probably have to go shopping Sunday for a few last minute "maybe baby" things in case she decides to come while we are there. Obviously hoping that doesn't happen!

Pup wants to play with her squeaker, so I'm out for now! :)

Rainy today

We are having an awesome break from the heat today. The high is projected at 81 but my Weatherbug says that right now it is 73 out. It did feel a little hotter than that when I went to the grocery store but it was mostly the mugginess of the rain.

Mike has headed off to Pittsburgh for the week. He is doing 2 weeks of job training over there. I am going with him the second week (and plan on spending a lot of time in the hotel pool!) but wanted him to have a week to himself. Who knows when that will happen again!

I'm feeling pretty tired today. I woke up and was wide awake so I'm thinking it is the rain that is making me feel this way. I might have to give in and take a nap.

July 4th

Independence Day! How exciting - or not. I usually have something planned but the most I want to do today is maybe get brunch someplace. We went over to see the fireworks last night and there were SO MANY people out. It wasn't the normal "come to the bars crowd" because they stay in the bars. It was "everyone and their kid and also their mother and grandmother and that strange uncle who keeps staring at me".

I think I'll stay inside today.

Relaxing

I just had a nice warm bath (not hot!) and it was so great. I used to do a bath every Sunday and shower the rest of the days but I hadn't had one in forever. LONG overdue! I always feel like I have to follow up with a shower, though.

The weather out is so nice today. Right now it is only 72. I hope this holds for the weekend. The 4th is usually super hot.

33 Weeks

I’ve been feeling mostly good. Today I am having some weird back pains, throbbing that is shooting all the way up to my neck. I’m keeping an eye on it but they aren’t very consistent so hopefully it is nothing.
A few weeks ago Mike came home with baby food - it was the most adorable thing. We are both very excited about Isla’s arrival.

I deleted these earlier, I'm trying to figure out what sort of blog to use. I wish I hadn't deleted! Anyway - here it is.

Ok, Hi!

So this is my maybe 5th time at trying to get a blog going. I am committed this time! I am 29 weeks pregnant and very excited about the whole experience.

Baby is doing great, lots of moving around and kicking me in the junk. The movement and kicks are great, but the bladder ones I could use a little less frequently. Since she is getting so big there won’t be much room left soon. And we only have another 11 weeks to get ready - AHHH!

Lots of baby stuff to buy still, though we have the big purchases done for the most part. Really looking forward to meeting her (when she is ready!) and finishing up her room and all that jazz.

30 Weeks Tomorrow

Almost another week has gone by - and only about 10 more to go before we meet baby! I have a lot of things to do still. I feel like I have a lot of time and not much time left.
The weather today is great, mid 60s and overcast, the wind is blowing and it feels like fall. I hate hot summer weather so days like this are an awesome break!
We may end up going to dinner with my husband’s boss and his wife tonight, but I’m not sure yet. Haven’t gotten the final word. Sounds nice though, I haven’t met them yet.
Plans for this weekend: Wait on Saturday for the couch repair person to show up, hope that they can’t fix the couch (so we get a new one). Sunday is the Gay Pride Parade and there will be some fun over at Penn’s Landing so I hope that it isn’t too hot out because it sounds really fun.
I also need to hit up the grocery store, I want some lasagna and there is NO way I’m going to make it myself!

Blah.

Feeling blah today. I woke up early and had a nap later on but can’t shake this lethargic feeling that I also had yesterday.

Yesterday as Mike and I were walking back from my doctor’s appointment, we came across a really small bird on the sidewalk. I stopped because he looked too small to be out on his own. Mike stopped when he saw me looking. The little guy noticed us and didn’t seem scared. He hopped over to Mike, looked up at him and started peeping. It was so cute. We tried to find where his nest was but couldn’t see anything. His mom was there feeding him so at least she knew where he was.

I’m just afraid that someone will not be watching where they are going and smash the poor thing. Be safe, little guy!

Great weekend.

Had an awesome weekend. I got really tired on Sunday and had to take a nap. It rained on the parade a little but it wasn’t too bad. We had a street seat in front of a restaurant while we ate lunch and watched the floats go by. I liked the parade but the flow could have been better. We were settled right after a judging station so there were quite a few pauses.

I’m feeling stopped up lately. I hope that I’m not getting Mike’s sickness - whatever it was. He didn’t look contagious so I probably just have some pollen issues. Allergens normally don’t bother me except for once in the spring so maybe I’m just late in getting sick.

No plans for this week, yet - I need to call the hospital and schedule our labor and delivery tour. That should be fun.
